Compensations for missing luggage

The airline company is liable for causing injuries to the passengers or damages to their properties.

If you have any luggage delayed, damaged or missing, you should go immediately to the handling agent to claim it. Claims should be filed in writing.

In national flights, claims for luggage delayed or damaged should be filed within 10 days from the time of delivery or the date in which the luggage should have been delivered. If the claim is not presented within 6 months from the date of the damage, you will be precluded from your corresponding rights.

In international flights, when your luggage has been damaged the period to claim is 7 days from the date on which you collected your luggage and 21 days if the luggage has been lost.

In case your luggage is not delivered within a period of 21 days, you are entitled to claim for an indemnity. Indemnity limits in case of missing luggage are the following:

  • In national flights: € 324.55, per lost luggage
  • In international flights: € 24.04 per kilogramme

In case your luggage contains valuable items, you must declare it at the airport at least 4 hours before departure. In case these are lost, indemnity will amount to the declared valued
